Meditating on God’s Words about Matters of health, prayer and fasting

Joshua 1:8
King James Version (KJV)

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

2 Timothy 3:16
King James Version (KJV)

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

If as a Christian you belive that the scripture is given by inspiration of God, and it is profitable for doctrine, reproof and correction and for instruction in righteousness, then dont ignore its instructions about matters of health…specially in matters about prayers, fasting and supplication. Don’t just leaf through the following verses, read it, meditate on it, pray these scriptures and apply these to your lives.

Genesis 1:29
King James Version (KJV)

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Mark 9:29
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Daniel 9:3
And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

Is it hard to make the changes due to culture and tradition? Pray! Also if your intention is to follow God’s will the Holy Spirit will make intercession for you…

Romans 8:26-27
King James Version (KJV)

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

It is also common for friends, family members and relatives of cancer patient,

– to say “I donot know what to say, I do not know what words can make my friend/love one feel better and get comforted”..
– when the cancer patient’s diagnosis, turn for the worse (e.g. it spreads to another organ)…”should I pray, thy will be done? or Lord please heal her?”
– or if when the cancer patient, feels better for a moment– we say, yes God healed you already. this is where most of us gets blind sided by the devil.. when things seems to be going well.. thats when we need to be more careful. Cancer took decades to form, it wont go away overnight.. if it took 10 years to form, it will probably take 10 years to heal.. a lifetime of abuse have its own consequences..it will take a lifetime to undo it.
– or worse blaming the devil and giving the devil credit for one’s illness. Dont give the devil the upperhand. God gave us enough weapons and instructions to fight the devil.. and all of that is written in scriptures. Use it!
– the other one is abusing God’s Grace, yes He will forgive, He will give you undeserve merit, but hey! He also told you take care of the vessel He gave you. Health is a gift given to us by birth. But we can easily abuse grace and health.

the answer is– its ok not to know the answer, its ok not to know what to pray for, it’s ok to pray and tell God, that you are concerned and that you want the best for your friend/love one…

i think the point of the series about prayers is that we cannot claim that “we prayed– therefore, this or that thing happened or did’nt happen”..

cause always It is God who has moved us; it is God praying to God through the agency of a human being.. and that what moves us to pray for another human being or even for ourselves is because of the “concern” that God planted in our lives…

this not about just ABOUT KNOWING HOW to PRAY and not about the absence of RELATIONSHIP with GOD,,, but rather KNOWING WHAT TO PRAY FOR… what is the will of God? ano ba ang dapat ipagdasal for yourself and the other person? thats when the Spirit comes to help.. to help us to know what to pray for.. aligned with God’s will.. and the best way to do that and to hear from the Spirit when he answers the question : WHAT TO PRAY FOR? is to FAST and PRAY! and then WAIT…when there is a quickening, when your conviction on what to pray for is getting stronger.. you take action!that’s when you say something to the other person (specially if you have never been in that person’s shoes)!
